UAW Monitor Says Shawn Fain Made False Claims Against Rich Boyer - MoparInsiders

A new federal monitor report is putting fresh heat on United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain, and this one directly involves the union’s Stellantis operation.
According to reporting from Liam Rappleye of the Detroit Free Press, court-appointed UAW Monitor Neil Barofsky has concluded that Fain improperly stripped UAW Vice President Rich Boyer of his Stellantis responsibilities in 2024. Boyer currently oversees the union’s assignments for National Stellantis and the Competitive Shop/Independents, Parts and Suppliers, better known as CS/IPS, Departments.
For those who do not follow every move inside Solidarity House, here is the simple version: Fain accused Boyer of dropping the ball on major Stellantis-related union business. The monitor says those claims did not hold up.
A Big Internal Fight Inside The UAW
This dispute goes back to May 29, 2024, when Fain removed Boyer from leading the UAW’s Stellantis Department. At the time, Fain claimed Boyer had been “derelict in his duties,” pointing to seven different issues tied mostly to the 2023 National Labor Agreement with Stellantis.
That contract was a huge deal for UAW members. It came after the Stand Up Strike and covered workers at Stellantis plants tied to Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Mopar (the company’s parts network).
