UK Won't Align Employee Rights Law With Tax Policy - Bloomberg Tax

The UK government said Tuesday that it doesn’t intend to align its tax rules on employee status with how it classifies the rights of these employees.

Currently, there are three different types of employee status when it comes to their rights—worker, employee or self-employed. However, under tax law there are only two employee statuses, employed or self-employed. Aligning the two sets of status could mean new tax reporting requirements for companies.
