GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. —
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged a woman in Greenville County with insurance fraud.
According to the arrest warrant, 37-year-old Kashina Sullivan of Pelzer submitted a false claim for insurance payment to Progressive Direct Insurance Company on May 31, 2024.
SLED said Sullivan's vehicle had pre-existing damage before obtaining the insurance policy with Progressive Insurance.
Sullivan was caught on video admitting that she vehicle was involved in a collision on May 30, 2024. She then obtained an insurance policy with Progressive using a false name and filed a claim.
SLED said Sullivan attempted to file a claim of $5,973 for pre-existing damage to her vehicle, but she was denied.
Another arrest warrant said Sullivan attempted to file a claim for the maximum coverage of $50,000 under a false name.
SLED charged Sullivan with the following on Monday, Aug. 25, 2025:
- Presenting a false claim for insurance payment - value more than $2,000 but less than $10,000
- Financial identity fraud
- Insurance misrepresentation - $50,000 or more - first offense
Sullivan was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
