Vingroup files lawsuits over alleged untrue claims - DTiNews
Vingroup has filed civil lawsuits, reported to authorities, and sent notices to embassies regarding 68 organisations and individuals accused of spreading false information about the group online.
According to the company’s announcement on September 8, those sued include account holders of websites and social media platforms, such as TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube, who allegedly fabricated or distorted information about Vingroup, its chairman, Pham Nhat Vuong, and other senior executives.
The group stated that the misinformation was deliberately designed to mislead public opinion, focusing on the financial status, product quality, and origin, as well as legal matters related to the products and personal information of the business’s leaders. Vingroup noted these acts may constitute violations of the Cybersecurity Law and the Penal Code.
Among the alleged false claims, several accounts claimed that Vingroup was facing bankruptcy due to debts of VND 800 trillion, and that VinFast electric cars and motorbikes were Chinese products disguised as Vietnamese. Other alleged rumours included mass resignations of employees and claims of fabricated legal or political issues linked to the company.
