Warner Robins woman files 77,000 false claims to Medicaid, raking in nearly $5.4 million, DOJ says - 13WMAZ

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A Warner Robins woman was indicted for allegedly filing nearly $5.5 million worth of fraudulent Medicaid claims, billing for the program for products that she never fulfilled, according to the United States Department of Justice and court documents.
They say prosecutors believe that 62-year-old Elizabeth Sue Ivester of Warner Robins ran Liberty Medical, Inc., a medical supply company that was located on Russell Parkway. The business closed in 2024.
Between June 2014 and September 2022, Ivester was accused of using medicaid identification numbers to submit fraudulent claims with Georgia's Medicaid administrator, falsely claiming a physician's order for durable medical equipment from her company, according to court documents.
But prosecutors say that was not true. The doctor had not ordered the durable medical equipment nor did Ivester deliver the medical equipment she billed Medicaid for, according to the court documents.
Among the suspected false filings, Ivester is accused of billing Medicaid for over 13,000 "transfer tub rail attachments," receiving nearly $1.5 million for the product she never delivered.
Over the eight-year period, Ivester was accused of falsely claiming that the physician had ordered 77,095 pieces of medical equipment that the doctor never did, the Department of Justice said.
