A former assistant vice president for Wellstar Health Inc. may proceed with his claim that the company violated the False Claims Act by firing him in retaliation for raising concerns about alleged medical equipment overbilling.
Damion Schinnerer sufficiently alleged at this stage that Wellstar was concerned that he would report the company for defrauding the government, Judge Thomas W. Thrash Jr., of the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia said in a Thursday opinion.
