ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A DEA whistleblower alleges the agency let hundreds of thousands of fentanyl pills enter New Mexico and that decision got people killed.
David Howell spoke to the Associated Press and claims the Drug Enforcement Administration monitored fentanyl pill shipments between 2023 and 2025 but did not seize them.
Howell said the agency made those moves as part of an effort to build bigger criminal cases against traffickers.
In a statement to the Associated Press, the DEA said, “the investigative decisions at issue were lawful, reasonable under the circumstances and consistent with Department guidance.
