A controversy over actor Lee Yi-kyung’s private life has flared up again. The whistleblower who once admitted fabrication and apologized suddenly reversed the position.
A German woman, identified as A, recently wrote on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), “I’m debating whether to release verification shots,” and “It wasn’t AI (manipulation); I feel wronged. They made me into a victim of a bad guy.” She added, “The AI explanation was a lie.” In some posts, she hinted that she would release photos showing clothes of a specific color.
On Oct. 19, A became the center of controversy by posting on a blog sexually explicit chat messages with a man presumed to be Lee Yi-kyung, photos from a filming set, and selfies.
As the post spread rapidly, A soon acknowledged it was false and posted an apology, saying, “At first it was a prank. While making AI photos, I ended up believing them myself. I’m sorry.”
However, in less than a month, A abruptly flipped the position, claiming, “I was never sued, and the AI explanation was false,” fueling confusion.
Sangyoung ENT, Lee Yi-kyung’s agency, officially said on the 3rd, “We filed a complaint against A, the author of the rumors, on charges of spreading false information and defamation. There was no discussion of any settlement or compensation.”
