Yoon faces backlash for alleged false claims during impeachment trial - CHOSUNBIZ - 조선비즈

The Democratic Party said on the 8th that President Yoon Suk-yeol, who claimed during the impeachment trial at the Constitutional Court that he had not issued orders to arrest politicians during the state of emergency, should "stop the cowardly attempt to shake the impeachment trial with verbal tricks and false incitement."

Spokesperson Han Min-soo noted in a briefing that "the testimony regarding the order to arrest politicians that Yoon Suk-yeol strongly denied came out following the statements of Hong Jang-won, former Deputy Director of the National Intelligence Service, and Kwak Jong-geun, former commander of the Special Warfare Command."

Spokesperson Han referenced reports that a counterintelligence agency official gave handwritten testimony stating they were assigned a mission to arrest politicians, emphasizing that "there is no longer any room for verbal tricks such as agents, lawmakers, or personnel, or delusions of impeachment schemes."

He also claimed that "there is no way to conceal any illegal orders with President Yoon's cunning arguments and verbal tricks," adding that "any incitement to obscure the nature of the unconstitutional and illegal martial law will not work."

He continued by stating, "The impeachment trial is not a karaoke where Yoon Suk-yeol pours out delusions.
