Green Party leader Zack Polanski is under pressure after two false claims about his past roles were exposed, casting doubt on the accuracy of his public profile. Mr Polanski falsely described himself as a “spokesperson” for the British Red Cross while fundraising during his successful 2022 campaign for the party’s deputy leadership, reported The Times. The claim appeared on his personal website and on crowdfunding pages soliciting donations.
The British Red Cross rejected the assertion, stating that Mr Polanski “has not been a spokesperson” for the organisation and confirming that it raised the issue with his team. In response, the Green Party said the reference related to Mr Polanski hosting fundraising events and supporting the charity on stage, rather than holding any formal communications role.
A second discrepancy concerns his work as a hypnotherapist. Mr Polanski advertised himself as a member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy and used the post-nominal letters “MNCH” in promotional materials. However, he was never a full member, having only held student membership before qualifying.
