CAG report exposes Naidu's brazen lies and false claims on state's fiscal health: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Times of India

YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy criticized the Andhra Pradesh government's fiscal management, citing a CAG report indicating a revenue growth of only 3.08% against India's GDP growth of 9.8%. He questioned the TDP government's claim of 12.02% economic growth, highlighting the distress in state revenues.

VIJAYAWADA: Former chief minister and YSRCP supremo, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy lashed out at the state govt over its poor fiscal management. Jagan said that CAG report has thoroughly exposed the govt’s failures and brazen lies. “The year-on-year growth of State government’s own revenues (including tax revenues and non-tax revenues) was only 3.08% against the India’s GDP growth rate of 9.8% and the corresponding growth of Central government revenues is 12.04% during 2024-25. This has been clearly stated in the CAG report," said Jagan. He wanted to know if AP’s economy is really growing at a pace of 12.02% as falsely claimed by the TDP alliance govt, why would the state’s revenue growth be as low as 3.08% He said that the then opposition parties TDP and JSP continuously lied that the then YSRCP government’s policies were resulting in unchecked growth in liabilities during 2019-24. He said that they have carried a malicious campaign saying that the capital expenditure in crucial sectors was negligible and that, the State Government revenues were growing at a slower pace indicating economic slowdown.
