State and federal officials allege that three dentists practicing in Norwalk submitted kickback-tainted claims to the Connecticut Medical Assistance Program.
NORWALK, Conn. — Three dentists who operate out of Norwalk-based practices have agreed to civil settlements with the federal and state governments to resolve allegations that they violated the federal and state False Claims Acts.
Together, the settlements amount to more than $600,000.
Tal Yossefi, DMD, and Elad Yossefi, DDS, owners of Advanced Dental Center PC, allegedly violated their provider agreements under the Connecticut Medical Assistance Program, or CTMAP, and the federal Anti-Kickback Statute.

This development was reported Friday by Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut Marc Silverman and Connecticut Attorney General William Tong. Both officials issued press releases explaining what occurred.
The Yossefis allegedly committed violations when submitting claims to the CTMAP, which includes the state’s Medicaid program, pertaining to dental services rendered to Connecticut Medicaid patients referred to the practice by a third-party patient recruiting company.
Advanced Dental Center allegedly paid a recruiter for each Connecticut Medicaid patient the recruiter referred to the practice.
