Despite false claims of seeking peace, Russia continues to kill Ukrainian civilians – including children. - ubn.news

On August 28, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Kyiv, deploying 598 UAVs and 31 missiles that damaged residential buildings and infrastructure across the capital. Twenty-two people, including four children, were killed, and dozens wounded. President Zelenskyy described this missile and drone strike as a response to global calls for a ceasefire and diplomacy, highlighting Russia’s preference for ballistic weapons over negotiations. The attack also damaged energy infrastructure in several regions, affecting many businesses, including foreign-owned facilities. Notably, the enemy struck a high-speed train fleet, Intercity + of Ukrzaliznytsia, damaging railway infrastructure. A missile hit the Kyiv-based Bayraktar plant that is preparing for its launch, causing significant damage; this is the fourth attack on this plant in six months. Other Kyiv sites damaged include a Nova Poshta sorting depot, where three employees were injured; the Readeat bookstore-cafe; a Knygoland bookstore; a Ukrposhta branch; the Dobrobut medical center; the Honey Cafe; and several other restaurants and cafes, as well as the main offices of Bank Credit Dnipro and OTP Bank. Additional damage included buildings housing tax services, Ukrainska Pravda and Radio Liberty offices, and facilities belonging to the European Union and the British Council.
