False information circulating from malicious news media claimed that security forces burned two villages in Pinttha station in Kanbalu Township in Sagaing Region on 13 January.
Reports indicate that terrorist groups infiltrated towns and villages to engage in conflicts without considering the well-being of local communities, destroying residents’ lives and property. Security forces conducted necessary security operations in the area to prevent terrorist activities. Malicious media twisted these efforts to spread false narratives and stir public unrest.
Although security forces carried out security duties in the vicinity, they did not burn any houses, according to a security official and residents. Instead, terrorists set fire to villages that refused to support them.
