Moroccan Security Officer Files Complaint Over False Allegations Spread Online - Barlaman Today

A Moroccan security officer filed a complaint with the public prosecutor at the Casablanca Court of Appeal after a social media account named “Jabaroot” accused him of fabricated crimes, the National Police (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance Agency (DGST) announced Wednesday.

The officer, identified only by his initials A.N., reported the account for spreading false claims, insults, and defamatory content, including fabricated documents and the misuse of his personal information, such as his phone number.

He requested a judicial investigation to identify those responsible for what he described as deliberate attempts to damage his reputation and that of his family.

In a joint statement, the DGSN and DGST said they would provide full legal support to the officer, citing the principle of “state protection” granted under the statute governing security personnel.

The complaint accuses the social media account of knowingly reporting fake crimes, publishing false information, and attempting to mislead the public.

This is not the first time Jabaroot has been implicated in an investigation. In April, a hacker using the Jabaroot alias leaked sensitive personal data belonging to nearly two million Moroccan citizens.
