The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office has announced a request for qualifications for law firms to act as special counsel for employment litigation and stated that RFQs for other subject areas are expected.
The Department of Law and Public Safety announced that the Division of Law has issued an RFQ for special counsel for employment litigation. According to a press release issued by the attorney general’s office, the state frequently hires law firms as outside counsel to represent the state in litigation, bond, and other legal matters.
The new online application tool for legal organizations is required as paper applications will no longer be accepted, according to the press release. Any questions pertaining to this employment litigation RFQ can be directed to Michael C. Walters, Deputy Director, Division of Law through 4 p.m. on April 4, 2023 at [email protected] with the subject line “Special Counsel RFQ for Employment Litigation.”
In the fall of 2022, a new RFQ and online application process was implemented including a new email mailing list registration link for outside counsel news. The guidelines for outside counsel were updated and became effective on November 1, 2022.
The RFQ submission portal will be operational on April 10, 2023 after the question and answer period ends and will be open through May 12, 2023.
