A whistleblower lawsuit against the Washoe County School District alleges fraud over credit card use, payroll and sloppy inventory management.
The Washoe County School District is facing a whistleblower lawsuit from an employee who is alleging a range of fraudulent activity.
Shannon Hammond, an administrative secretary, first filed the complaint in April, according to court records. The lawsuit was filed in Second Judicial District Court as a “qui tam” case, which allows whistleblowers to sue on behalf of the government over alleged fraud.
