Alfredo Olivas, who is one of most popular regional singers of Mexico, became the subject of viral rumours after reports claimed he was shot in an armed attack in Tamaulipas. Posts also claimed that his bodyguard died in the attack. The claims spread quickly across social media causing chaos and raising concern among his fans as well as followers.
The 32-year-old singer has however denied the claims that he was hospitalised and seriously injured following the shooting. He posted a photo of himself on Instagram and Facebook without any caption. In the photo he looked unharmed and pretty normal. In his own way, without saying anything, the Mexican singer hence confirmed the reports were all untrue. Fans were relieved after his post. "God take my ex but not my Alfredito," a comment read. "I love you handsome precious, not scaring us that you are balacenando miamor because I cry, you are the best never change," said another one.
Meanwhile, the Tamaulipas Security spokesperson also debunked the claims about Alfredo Olivas being shot in an armed attack. "In light of reports circulating on social media about an alleged attack on singer Alfredo Olivas on the Victoria highway, it is confirmed that this information is false. So far, security authorities have not received any reports of incidents or risk situations on the highways of Tamaulipas," it said in a statement.
