Whistleblower raised safety fears over Boeing Dreamliner factory where crashed India plane was made - The Mirror US

A Boeing employee alleged that the factory where the plane that crashed on Thursday in India was made was violating "countless" laws

Previous allegations about the failures of Boeing to address quality and safety concerns have resurfaced in the wake of the fatal plane crash in India on Thursday. The flight was carrying 242 passengers and it is understood that there are no survivors.

A Boeing whistleblower previously warned that the factory where the plane that crashed in India was made was allegedly violating "countless" safety laws.

John Barnett, who was found dead in March at age 62 after working in quality control at Boeing for over 32 years, documented several safety and quality issues to Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration while working for the aircraft manufacturer.

He alleged that the company tried to "eliminate" quality checks, falsified paper and knowingly installed contaminated parts to a servicing aircraft, risking an explosion that could "bring the whole plane down," at his factory in South Carolina.

Boeing claims that the quality issues that he reported were addressed before his retirement in 2017, adding that the “engineering analysis determined the issues he raised did not affect aeroplane safety.”
