Class action suits filed in federal court

Cree Lighting USA LLC's former workers have filed a lawsuit against the Sturtevant company for failing to provide adequate notice that the company was going to lay them off.
Employees allege the company informed them in October 2025 that they would be placed on furlough that was expected to last two to three weeks.
Instead, workers say they never returned to work, according to two class action lawsuits filed on March 19 in the U.S. District Court's Eastern District of Wisconsin.
On March 12, the company informed workers and local officials that it was laying off 172 workers.
Wisconsin's Business Closing and Mass Layoff Law, which is similar to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, mandates employers "provide workers with 60 days notice to help them prepare for the transition between their current employment and new employment."
That's according to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development website.
